I usually have no problem writing about style, dressing and how to. Recently, it’s been a struggle. This weekend I decided that I’d spend some time looking at cookbooks…It’s a hobby of mine. I get inspired by the recipes.
I wrote out a list of recipes that I wanted to try for the week and went shopping. With list in hand, I was in and out of the store in no time.
I feel so much better when I have a plan and go to the store. As a matter of fact, I spend less money when I have a plan and things look and taste better on the table too!
This morning I announced that we were having “breakfast for dinner”. We’re having “Herb Omelet Torte”. It’s a bit time consuming but not difficult and chocked full of everything one needs for a good meal…protein, vegetables and a little carb.
As I began layering the sauteed spinach, herb spiced omelet and red peppers, I realized that cooking and creating a wardrobe are not that different. My biggest realization was that this is why most women have difficulty getting dressed.
Most women I know these days don’t enjoy cooking or if they do they just don’t have the time to plan…As a result, they run out at the last minute to throw something on the table. It ends up being “OK” but not great.
It’s the same when creating your personal style. Are you struggling with your wardrobe? Do you feel like you have no style?
I have several clients who schedule wardrobe audits twice a year. They have very busy lives and don’t have time to plan or shop for everything by themselves….but treasure having a wardrobe that works-creating their personal style.
When you plan for it, it works…You spend what seems to be a lot of money right up front but then you don’t need to go back to the store for last minute items and realize that you have everything in your “pantry” for the coming season.
So how about you? What are your plans for the season. Have you taken an inventory of what’s in your closet? Do you have any idea what you will “cook” for the season? Do you have business, vacation, or special events planned. Join us for our Trends Webinar and get started.
In your daily diet, you need protein, fruits, vegetables and carbohydrates to stay healthy. It may seem like a stretch here, but you need the same for your wardrobe: core, accents and accessories.
When you have everything you need for your daily wardrobe you feel like things are working, your “cooking with style” and you:
“Look Good, Feel Great and Have FUN Doing It!”
