Nike has a term they are known by, “just do it”. I wonder how many of you have ever become so frustrated that the only thing to do is “just stop it”!
- My mother always had sage advice (as I’m sure many of your mothers did). One thing she always said was,
- “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink”.
- As a child I never knew what that meant. I thought that it was silly and meaningless. Now, these words come back to me and I get it.
- I get the fact that until we are ready to learn how to do something we will continue to do the same old thing because it is familiar. I get that it is difficult to change because we don’t know what is on the other side of change. I get that we cannot imagine what it will look like on us.
- Thankfully, many of us will reach the point where we are tired of doing the same old thing in the same old way. We become tired of buying the same clothes, wearing them the same way and are finally ready to make a change. Until then, there’s no point really in doing anything any different. We reach the point where we want to Just Stop It and begin DOING IT! You can learn how to “just do it” at StyleCAMP.
- For women this realization tends to begin in their mid to late 30′s. They are ready and willing to figure things out. I hear and see it all the time and say with a gentle encouraging nudge: just stop it
- Here’s what I know to be true:
- Every clothing item is not for every BODY
- It’s OK!
- Once acknowledged your freedom to choose becomes a gift
- Fewer choices mean easier decisions
- Easier decisions mean fewer mistakes
- Fewer mistakes mean better wardrobe selections
- Better wardrobe selections mane a more beautifully styled YOU!
Here’s what you’ll get:
Won’t you join me and “just stop it!” Stop buying and wearing the wrong things and you’ll never again say “I have NOTHING to WEAR! Just Do It and you’ll always:
“Look Good, Feel Great and Have FUN Doing It!”
